I have a Licensed Home Childcare, which I have run for the past fourteen years. I had a small deaf child enroll in my childcare, and that is what gave my the desire to learn Sign Language. This happened in October of 2000. I started taking a few classes in Bryan and I study VHS tapes. I now teach a little Sign Language in my childcare. Ashley is now ten years old and going into 5/th grade. She is an honor roll student. She was in the "Brenham Children's Chorus" last year.She loves the school choir and playing soccer. She loves Science and studying the Solar System. She won 1/st place in the Houston Fall Festival signing a song in 2001. Her pet is a Rat Terrier (Bambie) which she has had since she was one year old. Ashley got a bad skin disease when she was six years old in 1999 and after a lot of trials, God miraculously healed her in 2000. We started signing Christian Music in 2001. We started, "God's Discipling Hands" in 2004 (this year). This was our way we could witness for the Lord about how good he is and what he's doing. We wrote a book on "God's Healing Power" we also give out at places we go to sign. This is Dec. 2006 & there have been so many changes, I feel I need to up-date. My husband had a heart attack in July, 2005, so due to his illness, I closed my daycare in Oct. I now work at a wonderful day school, (C.L.D.S.) and I love it. I still work with the children. My husband is doing very well. He just chnged jobs, which he really enjoys. We had been praying for a job change, (due to his health) for some time. Ashley just turned 13 & in Jr. high. She took a break from signing, due to some things she has been going through, but God always works everything out. She will be signing with me this coming Jan. and I'm really looking forward to it. Please keep her in your prayers. We love to minister, whether it be signing or helping however/wherever we can. Pray for our ministry, for God to lead us where he wants us to be. WE'RE JUST WILLING SOULS WANTING TO GO WHERE EVER THE LORD SENDS US. |
